The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Housing Customer Service Center team as a Customer Service Representative. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external customers, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and concerns
- Offer information and guidance on policies, procedures, and programs related to housing services, ensuring that customers are well-informed and empowered to make informed decisions
- Identify and prioritize problems, performing research and offering solutions, options, and strategies to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
- Utilize information systems to input data, maintain databases, generate reports, and perform research, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Stay up-to-date with applicable policies, procedures, contracts, and legal issues, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Represent the Housing Customer Service Center in a professional and courteous manner, interacting with students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff, and external customers
- Train, schedule, and assign workloads to student workers, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects
- Provide services, including processing and delivery of mail and packages, receiving key deposits, and issuing keys, maintaining accurate records and logs
- Compose memos and letters, compile statistical reports, and perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma, with combined education and experience considered as a substitute for minimum experience
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional support and resolving issues efficiently
- A valid CA driver's license, with participation in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System, and a copy of your DMV record required as a final condition of employment
- A strong understanding of customer service principles, with the ability to demonstrate empathy, active listening, and effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
