We provide resources, research, and advocacy for U.S. military veterans seeking psychedelic-assisted therapies for traumatic brain injury (TBI), PTSD, addiction, and other mental health conditions. Role Summary VETS is seeking an independent contractor to support our growing base of grassroots supporters through community-led fundraising campaigns, volunteer engagement, and small-scale events. This role is ideal for someone who excels in relationship-building, resource development, and empowering supporters to participate in mission-aligned fundraising initiatives. The contractor will collaborate closely with the Director of Development as the primary point of contact for project coordination and deliverables. Scope of Services Peer Fundraiser Support • Serve as a primary point of contact for individuals and teams running grassroots fundraising initiatives (e.g., 5Ks, golf tournaments, social media campaigns) • Provide guidance, encouragement, and resources to maximize campaign success Campaign Coordination • Assist in planning and executing peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, GivingTuesday, and crowdfunding activities • Manage timelines, communications, and donor-engagement strategies Volunteer & Ambassador Engagement • Support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of VETS ambassadors and volunteers • Collaborate with VETS' Advocacy Membership Program on community-driven fundraising efforts Resource Development • Create and maintain digital toolkits, templates, social media assets, and event guides to equip supporters and volunteers Data & Reporting • Track campaign progress, supporter activity, and donor interactions in Salesforce and GoFundMe Pro • Compile performance reports and contribute to forecasting Event Coordination • Provide logistical support for small-scale virtual and in-person community events • Offer on-site support for select events, as negotiated in advance Cross-Team Collaboration • Coordinate with Development, Communications, and Program teams to elevate community fundraising efforts and highlight compelling supporter stories Qualifications • Strong alignment with the VETS mission and interest in innovative mental health solutions for veterans • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to manage workload, timelines, and priorities independently • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) • Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising tools (e.g., GoFundMe Pro, Salesforce) • Ability to develop mission-aligned content that supports participation and engagement Preferred • 2+ years in fundraising, donor engagement, volunteer management, or event coordination • Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and platforms • Experience working within a CRM environment (Salesforce preferred) • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Compensation & Terms • Independent contractor engagement • Hourly rate commensurate with experience • Estimated 15–25 hours per week • Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend availability depending on events or campaign needs How to Apply Submit your application HERE Equal Employment Opportunity / EEOC Statement Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS) is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing an inclusive environment for all applicants and contractors.
