JOB SUMMARY
As a Physician Advisor for Disability Peer Review within the scope of Oncology, you will leverage your expertise to review oncology-related cases and provide authoritative guidance on medical necessity and claims processing. The Physician Reviewer will ensure that all evaluations meet client-specific policies and are aligned with recognized standards of oncology care.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct detailed reviews of medical records pertaining to oncology cases to respond to client inquiries, employing suitable criteria and guidelines.
- Produce clear and concise determinations with robust documentation to support your findings.
- Utilize the latest medical standards, evidence-based resources, and peer-reviewed literature to guide sound clinical decisions.
- Provide prompt and thorough reports that include relevant criteria utilized during the evaluation.
- Adhere to defined deadlines for case completion and submission.
- Engage in follow-up communication as necessary, tailored to the needs of specific cases.
- Maintain all required licensure and certification to ensure the effectiveness of performance.
- Participate in mandatory training, orientation, and quality assurance programs.
- Get involved in audits or additional reviews as necessary to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
- Board Certification in Oncology and active clinical practice is required for this role.
