About the position
The Billing Clerk position is a remote role within the manufacturing industry, focusing on the efficient management of billing processes related to work orders and purchase orders. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate invoicing and maintaining customer service standards, while also identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Accurately receive and process incoming work orders from various sources ,
- Collaborate with the Billing Department to ensure timely and accurate invoicing of completed work orders ,
- Generate purchase orders for materials, parts, or equipment necessary for service tasks ,
- Maintain and update customer service portals in line with workflow requirements ,
- Ensure all work order, purchase order, and invoice documentation is accurately maintained and organized ,
- Communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders to clarify work order details and provide updates ,
- Maintain compliance with all company and regulatory billing, invoicing, and record-keeping procedures ,
- Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes in collaboration with relevant parties ,
- Provide necessary administrative support related to service billing operations ,
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the service billing function.
Requirements
- Proficient in computerized billing systems ,
- Familiarity with accounting functions and principles ,
- Capable of answering inbound calls professionally and efficiently ,
- Strong knowledge in billing functions and procedures ,
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis ,
- Experience with handling purchase orders ,
- Excellent data entry skills with a high attention to detail ,
- Strong administrative skills for managing and organizing work ,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment ,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and clients ,
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately ,
- High school diploma or equivalent, higher education is a plus.
